So Grateful for another year...

"That's me in there!!!"  So excited that today is my birthday.  I am grateful to God for another year to spend with my love, family and friends.  I am missing my mother but pictures like this make me remember her and smile through it all.

I am looking forward to what today has in store for me.

I hope you all have a wonderful day/weekend :)

Monday Inspiration...

Happy Monday.

I have fallen in LOVE with Tamela Mann's new song "Take Me To The King."  I play it at least three times a day.  I will be running to get her album on August 14th, 2012.

Please listen at your leisure and I pray it makes your spirit as happy as it makes mine.
Enjoy your day and week.

These shoes are NOT made for walking...

Yesterday I posted about wedge sneakers being a new trend.  I decided to follow with an affordable pair and BOY, AM I GLAD!!!

I wore those sneakers out to the mall today to check out Nordstrom's Anniversary sale.  They have some great deals for everyone!!  Walking around the mall in those sneakers for what seemed like hours took a toll on my feet.  I wear heals quite often and ASSUMED that a sneaker with a heal would be the next best thing.  Comfy and Chic at the same damn time!

Don't get me wrong - I will be wearing them just have to pick up an insole ASAP and limit them to a couple of hours.

Check out my outfit of the day.  Simple black shirt from H&M - I love the lace details.  Red skinny jeans from Old Navy.  Wedge sneakers from Bakers and a leopard head scarf from Target.

Hope everyone enjoyed their Saturday!!

What's Trending...

I first noticed wedge sneakers on Ciara which are Giuseppe Zanotti which are over $1000.  Then I noticed Beyonce was wearing them walking with Blue Ivy.  Those sneakers retailed for $700 by Isabel Marant.  Ummm to each their own but I will not be spending that amount of money on a trend.

So I did the next best thing... "DUPS!!!"  Below are three duplicates from Steve Madden, Bakers and Aldo that will allow you to follow the trend but not break your pockets.
What do you think of wedge sneakers?? Will you follow this trend?

Steve Madden $90/ Bakers $70/ Aldo $100

OMG its Blue Ivy!!

Everyone should know by now that I <3 BEYONCE!!!  These photos of Baby Blue Ivy hit the net today and she is a beautiful baby.  Here are pics of Beyonce as a baby - they look very similar.

I'm not a fan of the box braids - but thats for another post. photo credit

Baby you're a FIREWORK

I have always sang Katy Perry's songs at the top of my lungs and loved how versatile her looks were.  I especially fell in love with her and Russel Brand's love story.  I was also saddened to hear they had broken up.  I honestly loved her weirdness and think she isn't very different from Rihanna, Nicki Minaj or Lady Gaga in that aspect.

When I saw the advertisements for her movie - I knew I was going.  I bought lunch into the theater (sue me!) and had a party there all by myself.  The movie discussed her trials and her triumphs.  I loved it so much - I went and bought her album and have been singing every song, ever since!!!

How great is this song once you figure out what she is saying - lol!!!

Do you ever feel like a plastic bag,
Drifting through the wind
Wanting to start again?
Do you ever feel, feel so paper thin
Like a house of cards,
One blow from caving in?

Do you ever feel already buried deep?
6 feet under screams but no one seems to hear a thing
Do you know that there's still a chance for you
'Cause there's a spark in you

You just gotta ignite the light, and let it shine
Just own the night like the 4th of July

'Cause baby you're a firework
Come on, show 'em what you're worth
Make 'em go "Oh, oh, oh"
As you shoot across the sky-y-y

Baby, you're a firework
Come on, let your colours burst
Make 'em go "Oh, oh, oh"
You're gonna leave 'em all in "awe, awe, awe"

You don't have to feel like a wasted space
You're original, cannot be replaced
If you only knew what the future holds
After a hurricane comes a rainbow

Maybe your reason why all the doors are closed
So you could open one that leads you to the perfect road
Like a lightning bolt, your heart will glow
And when it's time, you'll know

You just gotta ignite the light, and let it shine
Just own the night like the 4th of July

'Cause baby you're a firework
Come on, show 'em what you're worth
Make 'em go "Oh, oh, oh"
As you shoot across the sky-y-y

Baby, you're a firework
Come on, let your colours burst
Make 'em go "Oh, Oh, Oh"
You're gonna leave 'em all in "awe, awe, awe"

Boom, boom, boom
Even brighter than the moon, moon, moon
It's always been inside of you, you, you
And now it's time to let it through-ough-ough

'Cause baby you're a firework
Come on, show 'em what you're worth
Make 'em go "Oh, Oh, Oh"
As you shoot across the sky-y-y

A scarf in the summer...

Who would have thought???!!  Yesterday proved to be a great day to wear a scarf.  It rained in the morning and cooled the remainder of the day.  I saw this scarf at Old Navy and fell in love with the color combination.  I knew I had the pieces needed in order to complete the ensemble and the scarf would be the added bonus.  Have you worn scarfs in the summer?

Here is a photo I posted to Instagram.  Follow me @ladystace727

Yoga Newbie

I took my first Yoga class today.  Experiencing Yoga is a part of my positivity challenge and I'll admit it was a challenge.  I never experienced anything like that ever nor have I ever sweat so much.  But...I can't wait to go back.  I loved it!!!

Here are some benefits of practicing Yoga:

A more positive outlook on life
Improved sleeping
Improved posture and relief of sore muscles
Steamier SEX!!!
Increased confidence
Strength training using your own body weight
Sense of Calmness

Have you ever tried Yoga??

Happiness is a choice...

I posted this on Instagram last night (@ladystace) and got a great response.  I truly believe Happiness is a choice and what you put out in the world whether positive or negative will come back to you.  I am making a conscience choice to emit positivity and find the positive in the world.

They say it takes 21 days to make or break a habit and 90 days to establish an addiction.
Who wouldn't want to be addicted to happiness?

I really would like to try new things for the remainder of the summer and if I like it continue to do it - in order to form a positive habit.

Some things I have decided to try are:

along with my new fitness regimen, I am going to try the shake weight.  I don't want any flabby arms in my wedding dress.

I am going to start taking Yoga classes.

I am going to read new books purely.  I'm going to try a book a week.

Any suggestions???  Would you like to join me on this Positivity Challenge??

Seven Four...

Happy Belated 4th of July.  Hope your holiday was full of independence and happiness.
We went to the Camden Aquarium for the new shark exhibit.  How did you spend your day??

I think they are trying to kill us...

Watching TV the other night and a commercial came on advertising Burger King's new BACON SUNDAE.  Are you serious???  I think they are trying to kill us immediately came to my mind. Anyone who has made conscience choices in what they put in their body knows that your body starts to crave the good things such as exercise, water and healthier food choices.
What do you think of the following food items?  Have you ever tried any of them?
Would you?  What's the worst meal you've ever seen?

We only have one life and what we eat definitely plays a role on the life we will live.

1) Red Robin Mozzarella Stick Burger!!!
2) Wendy's TRIPLE Baconater!!!
3) KFC Double Down - No Bun needed just two pieces of chicken, bacon, sauce n cheese
4) Sonic Texas Toast, onion ring burger
5) Johnny Rockets Double patty, bacon and onion rings!!
6) Carl Jr's look at the size of that meat!!
7) Burger King Infamous Bacon Sundae
8) Taco Bell Doritos flavored taco
